Learning Quechua for south Americans is a way of understand their past, their origins, the beginning of a native culture that still today is sub valuated and slowly forgotten. There are still so many Peruvians that think that Quechua is a dialect; well it´s not, it is a millenary language spoken nowadays by about 8 million people in South America. I think only those who speak it will understand the origins and reason of so many words and traditions that gave each country its own identity.
This was a 3 months course I took in Ica, from July to October. Yes, the basic course is only four months. The intermediate course will begin next year. I hope I can join next class. I made some nice friends in the basic course so I hope we keep in contact. “Tupananchiskama” means: see you soon.
